WAPPP offers non-stipendiary fellowships to exceptional scholars who are conducting gender-related research in one of WAPPP’s three focal areas: Work and Gender Equity (WAGE), Gender and Politics, and Gender and Conflict. By conducting research and engaging with faculty and students at Harvard Kennedy School and beyond, the fellows enrich the intellectual life of the center.

When I joined the WAPPP community as a Research Fellow I had no idea that this supportive group of scholars would have such an impact on me personally and professionally. For the first time in my career, I was given the space to bring my whole self to the work that I was doing as both a mom and a researcher studying the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on working parents, childcare, and gender equity.

— Alicia Sasser Modestino, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF PUBLIC POLICY AND URBAN AFFAIRS AND ECONOMICS AT NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY; WAPPP FELLOW 2020-2022
