Gender has impacted the 2016 election cycle more than ever in America's history. Hillary Clinton is the first woman to be a major party's nominee, and six Democratic women are challenging Republican incumbents for seats in the United States Senate. Recent polls by indicate a huge gender gap in voting patterns; Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by 15% among women, while trailing him by 5% among men.
