National Investment Commission, Liberia May 27, 2012 – August 12, 2012
Lucero focused on improving the business climate and regulatory investment framework this summer to create new economic opportunities for SMEs at the National Investment Commission in the government of Liberia. These reforms benefited mostly female-headed informal enterprises where the monetary and time costs of doing business were higher. As part of her tasks, she was also engaged in providing technical assistance to domestic entrepreneurs (most of whom were women) to meet the demands of foreign-invested businesses. In addition, she worked to support the NIC’s management of concessions and carried out additional tasks in support of the NIC’s current reorganization effort.
