Jocelyn interned with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) in Zanzibar City, Tanzania and helped launch CHAI’s Affordable Medicines Facility – malaria (AMFm) pilot in Zanzibar.  This project was designed to increase access to malaria treatment in partnership with governments, NGOs and private businesses.  Malaria is a major public health concern for all Tanzanians, especially for pregnant women and children under the age of five.  While Zanzibar has made significant progress in reducing malaria prevalence, AMFm aims to significantly contribute to comprehensive malaria control efforts and reduce the risk of malaria resurgence.
