Friederike Strub
Friederike first worked at the World Bank’s Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative, where she devised solutions for direct engagement with the private sector. She then transitioned to UN Women Nepal, where she was involved in three projects as part of the Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) team: firstly, she took on the qualitative evaluation of a major year-long advocacy campaign that targets issues related to WEE, rural women, and safe labor migration. The lessons from this helped UN Women Nepal to (re)structure its advocacy strategy. Secondly, she wrote a policy memo on gaps in Nepal’s legal framework on human trafficking and safe labor migration. Lastly, Friederike assisted in a new qualitative research project on women’s equal labor participation in non-agricultural sectors, as well as heading the planning of a research project on youth and gender equality.
