Catalyst, New York City, New York May 29, 2012 – August 17, 2012
Courtney conducted and participated in a range of research projects this summer related to corporate governance at Catalyst. Catalyst’s corporate governance research centers studies the under-representation of women on boards of companies and organizations, including the underrepresentation of minority women. Specifically, Courtney was involved in the writing of research reports, conduction of literature reviews, and designing of various research methodologies related to women’s representation on boards of companies in the U.S. and abroad. Discrepancies in female representation on corporate boards not only affect the status of women currently, but also set the stage for the next generation of women who aspire to be leaders. Thus, it is essential for research centered on women and leadership to be generated, disseminated, and acted upon so that closure of the national and global gender gap can occur.
