Cambridge, MA — WAPPP Co-Director Hannah Riley Bowles has launched the Negotiate WELL (Work, Education, Life, & Leadership), an online collection of multi-media educational materials that support teaching and learning on gender in negotiation and career-related negotiations. The collection includes teaching plans with slides and instructional materials (e.g., cases, videos, workbook).

“I am often asked about teaching materials related to gender in negotiation,” says Professor Bowles. “I am excited to publish this new website providing educators with access to multi-media teaching materials based on research related to gender in negotiation and women’s leadership advancement. The materials are inclusive of negotiations at the boundary of work and family and the lived experiences of people from historically marginalized groups.”

The Negotiate WELL collection is part of a broader initiative to develop negotiation research and pedagogy that is useful to diverse leaders and change makers within and beyond Harvard University. Collaborating organizations in the testing and development of these materials include LedBy, a leadership incubator for Muslim women in India developed by Ruha Shadab, HKS MPP ’20, and the Leadership Academy, a joint venture with the Institute of Diversity Sciences at UMass Amherst and the Leadership Academy for Women of Color in Tech.

Negotiate WELL is made possible thanks to the support of the Carol J. Hamilton Funds.
