Are big sisters the key to success? New research suggests yes

Javaeria Qureshi, a research fellow at the Women and Public Policy Program, discusses research that addresses the importance of sibling relations in child development. The research found that older sisters were more likely than older brothers to spend time reading to and playing with their younger siblings, which substantially improved the younger siblings’ vocabulary and fine motor skills.
