Daniel Shoag, Assistant Professor of Public Policy, Harvard Kennedy School
Lauren Russell, Ph.D. Candidate in Public Policy, Harvard Kennedy School
In this seminar, Daniel Shoag and Lauren Russell analyze the impact of firms’ decisions about the written content of their job postings and their methods for advertising these job openings on the employment and career outcomes for women, particularly for women of color. Shoag and Russell use two large, novel data sets to conduct this analysis. The data contain information on job advertisements matched to panel information on the gender and intersectional employment of establishments.
