She worked with the Chair of the Committee in several of the following areas: Collaborating with international agencies, government and civil society organizations and other interested parties on the development, assessment, communication and outreach of foreign policy of Georgia; working on the outreach of Georgian political developments abroad; helping facilitate the carrying out of policies for global development based on the MDGs: passing/monitoring implementation of laws relating to the MDGs, for example on women’s rights, women’s representation, human rights, education, health, poverty, illiteracy and the environment; and contributing to the efforts of resolution of ethnic/territorial conflicts to which Georgia is a party or intermediary. Given that this was and election year in Georgia (next Parliamentary elections are scheduled on October 8, 2016), Sophie also worked on the pre-election campaign.
